Traffic Snipping with PPV Advertising

Of all the techniques that PPV advertising allows you to use, one of the most powerful for any marketer to tap into would definitely be that of traffic snipping. Don’t worry if you aren’t familiar with the term, it essentially just means that you’re going to be ‘stealing’ traffic from another site directly for your own purposes.

Remember this: When it comes to PPV advertising, you can bid on any website URL you decide. So that means that you could even bid on a specific product website and offer them some other cheaper, better, or more effective product while you’re at it — if you so desire, that is. By swooping in on practically any website, you’re going to be able to ‘steal’ a wide array of traffic from any one of a number of sources.

Primarily, this technique is used to locate extremely highly targeted ‘nooks’ of traffic, and then take advantage of them. So what you could do if you were promoting a cheap iPhone is to bid for a URL on newegg.com or something like that which is actually selling iPhones. By doing so, you’ll essentially have your advertisement show up right when the potential customer is ready to buy, and from there you can swipe the customer itself!

Unfortunately, the truth is that so many people know the basic method of this strategy and already are putting it to use. For the most part, this would mean that people are bidding on landing pages for various products, and so on. Needless to say this limits your options slightly, but there’s no reason why you can’t up the ante and take things a step further.

If you were to instead focus on product review pages, you could bid on a few of those from your competitors. Be sure to have a pop up or pop under that essentially shows a similar but superior or cheaper product that can compete with what they have on offer.

Any visitors to a review website are already nine-tenths of the way there as far as making a purchase is concerned. Due to that, when you offer something that is clearly better at that particular juncture when they want to make the purchase, but just want to find out more first… well, that is how you could steal even more potential customers.

Based on the examples that we just gave you, it should be plain to see that the technique you’ve been taught has amazing potential. Not only is it flexible, but it will allow you complete control over how exactly you want to carry out your very own snipe.

Be sure to apply this technique in your marketing efforts!
